Sky Bath Proposal
The assignment was about creating a bath house on the Hudson River that was well integrated with it’s surroundings. I choose a form that has the vistor pass through three different environments before ultimately arriving at the bath and then the swimming platform at the Western most part of the bathhouse. The visitor expriences unwinding and decompression from the stresses of the city as they proceed down the path on the way to the bathhouse. Walking along a narrow, solemn wooden path, then passing through a mini bamboo forrest, a calming airy atrium and then the bath itself. With materials, structural and design choices, I’ve attempted to shorten the time that it takes from daily, urban street-level energy to cozy, spa-like nothingness.
